April Meeting Minutes

April 21, 2025 Minutes

Present: Mitch, Brad, Marcie, Molly, Susan, Kelsey, Jamila, Darlene, Erin, Cory,Frank, David & Melissa, Gina, Samantha

III. Minutes from March were read and approved

IV. The four applications for full membership were all approved unanimously, and Kelsey, Samantha, David and Melissa will be initiated during Demicon.

V. Tadao Tomomatsu is unable to attend Demicon and serve as Toastmaster. Mitch will fill in as Toastmaster.

VI. Upcoming events: Demicon is coming up May 2-3-4 with the theme of FAN-tasy. BAS will have a panel on Writing for Radio, Saturday morning at 10:00. We hope to produce, with the help of our attendees, a short radio show that can be performed on Sunday, along with our regular show, which is a parody of a Sherlock Holmes-esque mystery called a Study in Brown. We have the main room Sunday from 11 – 2 for rehearsing the radio shows, etc, then we will be initiatingthe new members, and performing both radios shows. We decided to have the room party theme be Fantasy Island (with flamingos, palm trees, etc.) on Friday and Saturday nights. Discussion was held on the drinks we will be serving at the party. A couple of tropical style alcoholic drinks will be available, along with one or two non-alcoholic selections. With Mitch being kept very busy as Toastmaster, we all need to pitch in for the party, with setting up, and clearing out the room on Sunday morning. Gina is planning a uke jam during the room party, with the B.U.M.S. group. A competition for best room party, etc will be held. Be sure and vote!

VII. Brad will put up a poll on the Facebook page regarding the proposed cemetery tour this summer.

VIII. Cogsworth was back with a joke for our listening pleasure. He told us his Grandpa never needed glasses! He always drank straight from the bottle!
